The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) makes high-quality early learning and childcare affordable for Australian families.

If you need assistance with the childcare costs in Perth, the CCS is a government subsidy for eligible parents. It’s an initiative the Government provides to reduce the costs of day care, after school and vacation care services. Eligibility depends on Australian residency and immunisation requirements, income, using an approved childcare service, and other factors.

Child Care Subsidy Eligibility

You’ll need to meet some requirements to get the CCS. Please apply through Centrelink and MyGov for more information. Centrelink will calculate your CCS entitlement and confirm your level of support.

The amount of Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you’re entitled to will depend on four things:

  • Your combined family income amount and the childcare costs you pay
  • The number and age of children you have in approved care
  • How many ‘recognised activities’ you and your partner do each fortnight
  • The entitlement is based on the lesser activity figure for a member of a couple

How it works

The centre receives your CCS after each completed week of childcare. While you’re allowed a generous number of absences per each with CCS, it’s a condition that you sign your child in and out of our centre every time you attend. If you forget to sign in or out, CCS won’t be paid.

This Government subsidy isn’t designed to meet the full cost of childcare, but a percentage of the childcare fees. For example; if you’re eligible and your family earns less than $80,000 per year, your CCS rate will be 90%
